Mandrake Enterprises is a boutique Construction Management Services company.

The company was formed in 2002 by Director/Principal John Robbins to service the construction management industry in the Commercial Property Market and the niche market of Grease Plant debottle-necking.

In 2004 Mandrake Enterprises centred its focus on the downstream oil industry whilst also completing projects in the sand mining industry.

Construction & Project Management

In 2007 the decision was made to focus exclusively on the oil industry, taking advantage of the Director’s 22 years experience.

Projects for small independent oil and tallow production companies were completed in the Brisbane area.

In the second half of 2007 Mandrake was employed to complete construction coordination on the Flare Infrastructure Project as the Client’s Representative for BP (Bulwer Island).

In July 2008, during the course of this $120M project, Mandrake was invited to supply additional construction staff to complete the outstanding works on the Flare Project and to complete the management of the construction for a suite of projects on the refinery. At this point Mandrake Enterprises expanded to a staff of nine, employing experienced oil industry staff with between two and thirty years experience.

The staff employed cover the majority of disciplines required to successfully manage the construction phase of a project or complex repair and/or maintenance tasks in an operating oil refinery.

In late 2009 Mandrake Enterprises tendered and was successful in winning a three year contract at BP Bulwer Island for all the Construction Management of all project works on site including any critical and technically difficult maintenance works involving hot work (welding).

This required Mandrake to initially double in size and change and adopt new systems to enable the company to complete this work which on average will be $70m per annum total project cost.
